About our Products
We like to think of them as the best of both worlds.
While traditional workbooks and worksheets are often viewed as busywork—something in which students are to merely copy & paste information from a dry textbook—our products are designed to compliment a much richer learning experience.
Geography Kid products are designed be more open-ended, functioning like a scrapbook or a notebooking page. While we do have some guided question slots, students are free to paste in photos, postcards, record their own thoughts and ideas, add drawings or stamps, and choose which landmarks and features they’d like to add to maps.
A teacher’s guide is available and can be used as a spine for the entire workbook, or act as a launching point for a much more in-depth unit. The teacher’s guide includes an answer key for the written portions, some brief information on each country or territory, and resources to help teachers customize and expand home or classroom study .
Once an area has been thoroughly explored, a completed packet makes not only a beautiful record of the student’s journey, but can serve as a portfolio for home educators.
Notebooking is a popular educational method, particularly among home educators. Students record their learning process and observations in their own words in a notebook (blank or lined) or on a themed notebooking page or template. Notebooking often takes on a ‘scrapbooking’ element as students can add drawings or paste in ticket stubs, photos, or postcards.
We like to think our products take notebooking to the next level. While our pages remain open to creative expression, we offer a little bit of optional scaffolding for teachers, parents, and students who would like a little more structure or direction.
Our notebooking packets work especially well for students who might feel overwhelmed when looking at a blank page.

Printing Questions
Printing the whole book in color can be costly (though it sure looks pretty). Here are some ways to economize.
- The full PDFs contain blank pages for formatting purposes. When getting a quote from a print shop, make sure they aren’t charging you for the blank sheets.
- If you have access to a black and white printer, print the country pages (worksheet + map page) yourself and simply send the photo and flag sheets in the back to be printed in COLOR at a print shop. You can also skip printing the flag sheets opting to color the black and white outline flags on the worksheets (as shown in example images) instead.
- If you’re having the whole thing printed at a print shop, give the following instructions:
- Skip the extraneous pages we had to include for legal/copyright reasons, such as the back and front covers, the table of contents, the photo credits, and copyright info.
- Have them print the country pages (check your PDF and give them the page numbers) in black and white.
- Have them print the photo and flag sheets in COLOR, (check your PDF and give the page numbers) on single pages (not double-sided). Or, as above, only print the photo sheets in color and save the flag sheets as a color reference to be viewed on a computer or tablet.
- You can also opt to only print a handful of countries to work on before printing the next batch.
- If you have access to a good pile of magazines such as National Geographic and can find pictures to paste into the “Meet the people” sections on your own, you can choose to forego printing our included photo sheets.
Some clever customers have figured out how to load the PDFs onto an iPad or other tablet and use a drawing program to complete the worksheets without printing. We haven’t tested this out, so can’t offer any tips, but if you have a tablet and someone techy you can ask, let us know how it goes!
We will have consumable, single-use workbooks with perforated sheets available on Amazon soon. They’ll start at $29.95. If you’re interested in these, drop us a message and we can let you know when they’re available.
