Geography Kid got its start on the popular (but now retired) weblog, Balancing Everything.

Jessica Wiseman was frustrated when she couldn’t find a single curriculum product online or in shops that covered more than just a handful of African countries, so she set out to create her own.

After months and months of research, sourcing, and testing, Discover Africa! was born in the summer of 2012 and became instantly popular with teachers and parents across the globe.

Jessica went on to design and launch Discover Europe!, Discover Asia!, and Out of this World.  She also enjoyed writing travel books for Flying Kids.

We are lucky to have Jessica’s continued creative talents at the helm of Geography Kid where we will continue to create beautifully designed, student-led, flexible, and open-ended curriculum choices that allow students of all ages explore the world and beyond.
